Our Sun Cream has an SPF of 20, meaning that it'll take twenty times longer for the sun to cause you damage than with no protection. So, if you're usually good for about 15 minutes before starting to burn, this cream will extend that to 300 minutes (5 hrs). When first using it, I recommend that people err on the side of caution with this calculation until you get a sense of how it works with your skin.

Also, the cream is oil-based, and so will not wash off in water without soap. However, the protective barrier can be compromised with an aggressive post-swim toweling off, so if anything more than a pat-dry is done, a reapply may be necessary.

Fun fact - zinc oxide's other primary use: white pigment. While only the thinnest layer is necessary, darker complexions will definitely show a white cast. Lighter complexions - If you look notably whiter after application or the cream still feels heavy on your skin after five minutes or so, chances are good that you've applied too much (I'm about as olive as a white guy can get and the sun cream is virtually unclockable on me). Simply remove the excess with a paper towel and make a mental note to apply a bit less next time.
